Apart from being an overly obsessive book nerd, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching 12th grade British Literature at Glenda Dawson High School in Pearland, Tx. My expansive imagination evolved out of reading WAY too many Goosebumps novels for AR points and pretending I was Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Hell-ooo Angel). Soccer challenged me in a physical way through out my life up into my collegiate years, though I secretly had a quirky passion for all things magic, fantasy, and lore. I used to own a magic kit as a girl, believe it or not: disappearing quarters were all the rage in the 90’s. Eventually, towards the end of my soccer career, I decided to pursue my love for literature and achieved a Bachelors in English with a minor in Education at Texas State University. I broke into the writing world in the most simplistic way; AKA journaling. It wasn’t until my freshman year of college that I truly began to express myself with poetry, free verse and eventually, a novel (an unfinished one, obviously). Now, I am married to my husband Michael, taking care of a wild Vizsla named Ember, who loves long runs and nightly snuggles. This blog was something that I decided to take on because I truly want to hear more opinions, thoughts, and even simple comments about all things literary. We all dream of becoming something bigger in life, and for me, that’s becoming a novelist. Though, in order to achieve that dream, one must put themselves out there, and by out there, I mean my own writing (inward shriek rattling in chest). So, lets share ideas, swap stories instead of spit and motivate the forever escapists.
Happy reading my friends.
